Aug 17, 2008 · Hi, does your ps3 connect wired ? If so it sounds like the wireless part of the ps3 has malfunctioned. It happened to my brother-in-law about a month ago (he had a two week old 40gb). It could be that your router is set to B-only, Im sure the ps3 is compatable with b and g but im not sure, my router is set to g-only lol. If you already have a wireless router that can run DD-WRT, and you carefully follow the instructions EXACTLY so as to not brick the router making it worthless, there is an option to BOOST the wifi signal. that in itself may help fix your problem, since the PS3 WiFi will recieve a stronger signal.

Mar 16, 2010 · The 40GB PS3 does have wifi, in spite of if it has NO compatibility with PS2 video games. even though it could play ps1 and ps3 video games. The 20 and 60GB ps3's have finished backwards compatibility, and the 80GB PS3 has utility emulation for ps1/ps2 video games (maximum video games, yet no longer all.) A WiFi repeater is just like any other repeater in that it receives the original WiFi signal from your router say downstairs.
